Andrew J. Bobenrieth, 63, of 108 Wilson Rd., St. Marys, died Monday morning, Oct. 17, 2016 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
He was born July 1, 1953 in St. Marys, a son of the late Joseph and Dolores Hayes Bobenrieth.
On May 22, 1998 in St. Marys, he married Patricia Groll Bobenrieth, who survives.
Mr. Bobenrieth was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of ECCHS, Class of 1971. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and retired from Keystone Carbon Company after many years of service. He was a longtime and devoted member of the Moose and he enjoyed gardening and going to auctions and yard sales. He loved being with his family and taking pictures and videos of them. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Patricia Groll Bobenrieth, he is survived by two stepdaughters, Rebecca (Bruce) Mackenzie of California and Nicole (Brian) Woodward of St. Marys; five grandchildren, Dominic, Coral, Kari, Scarlett and Teyla; two brothers, Richard (Kathleen) Bobenrieth of Ridgway and David (Cindy) Bobenrieth of St. Marys; 10 sisters, Elizabeth Folmar of Millsboro, Delaware, Jane Yale of MacClenny, Florida, Alice Taylor of St. Marys, Susan Berlin of Brockport, Patricia (William) Stevens of Long Beach, Mississippi, Judith (George) Smith of North Carolina, Ann Marie (John) Searle of Clearfield, Mary Ellen (Bradley) DePrater of St. Marys, Helen (Kurt) Weihe of Corinth, Texas and Doris Garza of San Antonio, Texas; as well as by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Joseph, Robert and John Bobenrieth.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Andrew J. Bobenrieth will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 21 at noon at Sacred Heart Church, 337 Center St., St. Marys, with Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
