Ellsworth L. "Bud" Meyer, 84, of 156 Jackson Road, St. Marys, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 27, 2017 at his home.

He was born on May 21, 1932, in St. Marys, a son of the late George and Julia Salter Meyer.

On September 10, 1955 in St. Boniface Church, he married Germaine Wolfel Meyer, who survives.

Bud was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of Queen of the World Church.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954 during the Korean War.  He retired from Keystone Carbon Company after many years of service.  He greatly enjoyed his barn and tending to the animals he kept there.  He also enjoyed trapping, hunting, and fishing.

In addition to his wife of more than 61 years, Germaine Wolfel Meyer, he is survived by three daughters, Becky Beimel of Truman, Cindy Prechtl of St. Marys, and Denise Meyer of St. Marys, by four sons, Mark (Rhonda) Meyer of West Virginia, Roger (Mary) Meyer of Warren, Ronald Meyer of St. Marys, and Jude Meyer ofSt. Marys, as well as by 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by a sister, Martha Griffin of New York, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter in infancy, Mary Meyer, a son in early childhood, Adam Meyer, by nine brothers, Raymond "Pete" Meyer, Arthur Meyer, Harold "Eddie" Meyer, George "Sonny" Meyer, Francis "Tootie" Meyer, Floyd "Buzzy" Meyer, Robert Meyer, Merle Meyer and James Meyer as well as by two sisters, Hazel Gaffey and Rita VanAlstyne.


A Mass of Christian Burial for Ellsworth L. "Bud" Meyer will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 12:00 PM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA with Rev. Richard Allen, Pastor, officiating.
Full Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation.
