John L. "Jack" Snyder, 70, of Wilcox, died on Friday, January 27, 2017 following an illness of the past few months.

He was born on October 18, 1946, in Ridgway, a son of Thomas Snyder, who survives of St. Marys, and Betty Luchs Snyder, who preceded him in death.  Jack was a graduate of ECCHS, class of 1964.

In addition to his father, Thomas Snyder, he is survived by two sisters, Gayle Piccolo and Ginny (Nate) Wilson both of St. Marys, and by two nieces, Kelli (Seth) Hall and Alaina Wilson.

Jack attended Pitt Bradford where he studied journalism.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had worked at various local companies over the years.  Most recently, he had worked at Cameron Diversified, which he greatly enjoyed and where he had made many friends.  He greatly loved the outdoors, especially fishing, birdwatching, and throwing horseshoes.  If you were Jack's friend, you were his friend for life.  He was a private person who loved his family and friends, yet he was fiercely loyal and will be missed by many.

In addition to his mother, Betty Luchs Snyder, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Snyder, a brother at birth, Joseph Snyder, by a niece, Lily Wilson, and by a nephew, Thomas Piccolo, as well as by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for John L. "Jack" Snyder will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at 12:30 PM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA, with Rev. Richard Allen, officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Queen of the World Church from 11:30 AM until the time of the Mass.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Community Nurses Hospice, 757 Johnsonburg Road, Suite 200, St. Marys, PA 15857.
