Leo P. Wolfe, 86, of 347 Benzinger Road, St. Marys, died on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at his home following a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born on July 11, 1930 in St. Marys, a son the late Henry and Marguerite Cooney Wolfe.

On August 28, 1954 in St. Mary of the Angel Church in Olean, NY, he married Patricia McGinnis Wolfe, who survives.

Leo was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Central High School.  He served overseas in Korea in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He retired from Quality Components after nearly 40 years of service.  In his free time, Leo enjoyed rebuilding tractors and could be found tinkering with things in his garage.  He was very innovative and will be fondly remembered for his ability to build and make things.  He was a member of St. Marys Church and was the last member of his immediate family.

In addition to his wife, Patricia McGinnis Wolfe, he is survived by a brother-in-law, Philip Wingard of St. Marys, and by two sisters-in-law, Joan Close of Warren and Theresia America of Hurley, NY.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Wolfe, two sisters, Gertrude Luke and Phyllis Wingard, and by two brothers in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Leo P. Wolfe will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church with Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Community Nurses Hospice.
