Louis E. Erich, Jr. age 93 of Cherryville, NC and formerly of St. Marys, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Wendover Hospice House in North Carolina.

He was born on March 30, 1922 in Elk County, a son of the late Louis and Marie Schaberl Erich.
On July 13, 1946 he married the late Vivian Horner Erich, who preceded him in death on February 16, 1998.

Louis was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army. He and his brother owned and operated Erich Brothers where they built numerous houses in PA. He enjoyed hunting in his younger years and enjoyed being out in nature and taking his dog on walks.

He is survived by five children, Ruth Marie Shippling and husband, Brian of Connelly Springs, NC, Michael Louis Erich and wife, Brenda of Hildebran, NC, Sharon Ann Larkin and husband, Terry of Cherryville, NC, Laurie Jean Young and husband, Dennis of St. Marys, and Louise Elizabeth Woodford and husband, Joseph of St. Marys; a brother, Lavern "Barney" Erich of St. Marys; grandchildren, Russell Meyer, Rachelle Bish, Rodney Meyer, Pierce Erich, Annemarie Erich, Leighann Larkin, Kristi Woodford, and Shawn Woodford; and great grandchildren, Brandon Meyer, Kyle Bish, Karly Bish, Lilyana Erich, Emily Erich, Tucker Larkin, and Nicholas Woodford.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Larkin; and siblings, Earl Erich, Alfred Erich, Rosemarie Kerner, and Ruth Erich.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Louis E. Erich, Jr. will be celebrated on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 12:00 PM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Richard Allen, Pastor, officiating.
Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
The family will receive friends on Friday at Queen of the World from 11:00 AM until the time of the mass at 12:00 PM.
