Raymond G. Lecker, 78, of 181 Ford Road, St. Marys, died on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Penn Highlands Elk following a lengthy illness.

He was born on January 30, 1939, in St. Marys, a son of the late Charles and Rita Hoffman Lecker.

On July 1, 1961 in Sacred Heart Church, he married Barbara Beimel Lecker, who survives.

Ray was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of St. Marys Public High School, class of 1957.  He was a member of St. Marys Church and served 6 years in the Army National Guard.  He retired from SGL Carbon after more than 47 years of service.  He enjoyed traveling, camping, hunting, and fishing.  He was an avid Pirates and Steelers fan, and liked to play cards with his friends.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of nearly 56 years, Barbara Beimel Lecker, he is survived by three daughters, Amy Taitague of Florida, Missy Lecker of St. Marys, and Jodi (Don) Regulski of St. Marys, and by one son, Raymond (Shannon) Lecker of Shippenville, as well as by nine grandchildren, Justin Lecker, David and Sara Regulski, and Raegan, Ryan, Rylee, Raymond, Ruston, and Raughlin Lecker.  He is also survived by three sisters, Patricia Ponist of St. Marys, Audrey (Louis) Meyer of St. Marys, DonaLee Benton of Florida, and by one brother, Charles (Becky) Lecker of Georgia as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond G. Lecker will be celebrated on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, 315 Church Street,  St. Marys, PA with Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Community Nurses.
