Amy R. Harris, 54, of Sarasota, FL, and originally of Ridgway, PA, died on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, following a lifelong battle with injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born on May 1, 1962, in Ridgway, a daughter of the late Edward and Patricia Leonard Harris.

Amy was born and raised in Ridgway and was tragically injured in an auto accident at the age of 16, which left her a quadriplegic.  She spent the rest of her life in the warm, sunny climate of Sarasota.  Amy's positive attitude and beautiful heart touched the lives of many.  She was truly an inspiration to those who knew her.  Amy was a former member of St. Leo's Church in Ridgway and a member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Sarasota.

She is survived by five sisters, Susan (Frank) Bienkowski of Johnsonburg, Lori (Mark) Anderson of Richmond, VA, Brenda (Eric) Brocious of Vandalia, OH, Judi (Tom) Jenkins of Bradenton, FL, and Ann (Bernie) Charleson of Laurinburg, NC, and by two brothers, Douglas (Susan) Harris of Ridgway and Bradley (Kathy) Harris of Erie, PA.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Edward and Patricia Leonard Harris, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Harris.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Amy R. Harris will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at St. Leo's Church, 111 Depot Street, Ridgway, PA with Fr. Justin Pino, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery.
