David R. Ninnis, 81, of 111 David Street, Kersey, PA, died on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Oaks at Bethesda in Zanesville, OH with his family by his side following a brief illness.

He was born on March 8, 1936, in Lackawanna, NY, a son of the late Jane Ninnis Parris .

On April 28, 1958 in Cumberland, MD, he married Janice Carlson Ninnis, who survives.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War from 1952-1955.  He worked at Keystone Carbon Company for a number of years and then retired from Kersey Tool and Die.  He was a member of the Fox Township Legion, Eagles, the Fire Department and the Ambulance.

In addition to his wife of nearly 60 years, Janice Carlson Ninnis, he is survived by one daughter, Beth A. Krise and her husband Steve of Zanesville, OH, by three grandsons, Eric (Kaela) Krise of Columbus, OH, Ryan (Molly) Krise of Zanesville, OH, and Josh Krise of Pittsburgh, and by one great-granddaughter, Mykenna Dinsmore of Kersey.  He is also survived by one brother, James Parris of Tonawanda, NY, and by a special cousin, Linda Krise of Kersey.

Dave enjoyed Nascar, camping, and spending time with his family.  He was very fond of his hometown of Kersey and the friends he had there.  He was a member of Kersey United Methodist Church and had attended Coburn United Methodist Church while living in Zanesville.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Parris.

Funeral Services for David R. Ninnis will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Lynch-Green Funeral Home with Rev. Karen Trask, Pastor of Kersey Untied Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in Earlyville Cemetery in Kersey.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Fox Township Burial Detail.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of the service.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Kersey United Methodist Church, Fox Township Ambulance, or to the Fox Township Fire Department.
