Richard J. "Swifty" Auman, 80, of 712 Clark Road, St. Marys, died on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Highland View Health Care in Brockway following a brief illness.

He was born on January 9, 1937, in St. Marys, a son of the late Leonard and Florence Kerner Auman.

On May 18, 1957 in St. Marys Church, he married Elaine Cassidy Auman, who preceded him in death in 1991.

Mr. Auman was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Central High School.  He was a member of Queen of the World Church and retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after many years of service.  He was a member of the Moose and the St. Marys Sportsmen's Club and greatly enjoyed trap and skeet shooting.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to camp.

He is survived by four daughters, Linda (Harvey) Wolfe of St. Marys, Tracey (Mark) Decker of Kersey, Yvonne (Robert) Fenton of St. Marys, and Michele Auman of St. Marys, and by one son, Matthew Auman of St. Marys.  He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and by a brother, Kenneth Auman of St. Marys.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter in early childhood, Diane Auman and by a brother, Robert Auman.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard J. Auman will be celebrated on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 12:30 PM at Queen of the World Church with Rev. Jeff Noble, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
