Sue Manno Obituary

 

Sue S. Manno, 72, of 118 Taft Road, St. Marys, died peacefully on Monday, February 26, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital following a short illness.

She was born on May 14, 1945, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Luke and Sara Jane Miles Schaberl.

On August 25, 1978 in St. Marys, she married Leroy Manno, who survives.

Sue was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of ECCHS, class of 1963.  She was a member of St. Marys Church and retired from Babcock Lumber after many years of service.  Until the time of her death, she was employed as a coach at Curves in St. Marys, and very much enjoyed her time there.  She also enjoyed shopping and bus trips with her friends.  She will be remembered for her generous and loving nature and as a strong and kind wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her husband, Leroy Manno, she is survived by one daughter,
Kim (Scott) Johnson of Hampton, VA, one granddaughter, Andreana Hopkins, and by a step-grandson, Luke Johnson.  She is also survived by two sisters, Kathleen (Robert) Brennen and Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Slaughenhaupt, both of St. Marys, by two brothers, John (Shirley) Schaberl of Charlotte, NC, and Michael Schaberl of Johnsonburg, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew Schaberl and Luke "George" Schaberl, and by one sister, Sylvia Feldbauer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sue S. Manno will be celebrated on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, Church Street, St. Marys, PA with Fr. Peter Augustine Pierjok, Pastor, officiating.

The family will receive friends at church from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass.

Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the American Cancer Society.
