Susan McClain Obituary

 

Susan A. McClain, 70, of 2115 Mt. Zion Road, Weedville, died on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Penn Highlands DuBois following a brief illness.

She was born on March 29, 1948, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Robert "Twinny" and Mitzie Jameson Swanson.

On November 15, 2014 in Byrnedale, she married Joseph McClain, who survives.z

Sue was a member of Maria Lutheran Church and graduated from St. Marys High School, class of 1966.  She worked at SGL Carbon for a number of years and was a member of the St. Marys Polka Boosters.  She enjoyed working in her yard and garden, and also enjoyed fishing.  She also enjoyed time spent cooking, canning, and baking.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Joseph McClain, she is survived by two sons, Scott (Noel) Schneider and Kelly (Serena) Schneider, both of California, 21 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and by five step-children, Amy (Bob) Shields of St. Marys, Howard (Kelly) McClain of Ridgway, Dean (Amy) McClain of St. Marys, Heidi McClain of St. Marys, and Joseph McClain of Benezette.  She is also survived by three sisters, Cathy (Rick) Taylor of Kersey, Tina (Doug) Distler of Kersey, Stacey (John) Young of Franklin, by  three brothers, Bob (Walle) Swanson of Kersey, Jim (Patty) Swanson of Kersey and John (Tina) Swanson of Gibsonia, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services for Susan McClain will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018, at 12:00 PM at Maria Lutheran Church, 123 Toby Road, Kersey, PA 15846 with Rev. Erik Hart, Pastor, officiating.

Visitation will be held privately.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Maria Lutheran Church.
