Dale E. Fleeger

Dale E. Fleeger, 80, of Washington Street, St. Marys, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.

He was born on November 21, 1942 in Slippery Rock, PA, a son of the late Paul R. and Nellie E. Warsing Fleeger.

On November 15, 1969, in Slippery Rock, he married Frances Armstrong Fleeger, who survives of St. Marys. Together they shared more than 53 years of love, laughter, and happiness.

Dale worked for many years as a groundskeeper for Slippery Rock University, and then worked at Dollar General and Walmart following his retirement. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He was also an avid photographer who enjoyed watching and photographing wildlife. He was a good and kind man who loved traveling with his wife and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter; Kelly Frey of St. Marys; and by his 2 grandchildren; Margaret "Maggie" Frey and Hunter Frey. He is also survived by two brothers; Ronald (Linda) Fleeger of VA, and Thomas Fleeger of Volant, and by numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former son-in-law; Dean Frey.

In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by a sister in infancy.

Funeral Services for Dale E. Fleeger will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Lynch-Green Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Elk Haven Nursing Home Activities Fund.
