Donald E. Challingsworth

Donald E. Challingsworth, 85, of 284 Taft Road, St. Marys, died at his home on Monday, April 5, 2021 surrounded by his family following a lengthy illness.

He was born on January 7, 1936, in St. Marys, a son of the late Ernest and Helen Sarginger Challingsworth.

On September 13, 1955 in Elkton, MD, he married Joan Lynch Challingsworth, who survives.  Together they shared more than 65 years of love, laughter, and happiness.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons; David Challingsworth and his wife Yvonne, Glen Challingsworth, John Challingsworth and his wife Jennifer, Robert Challingsworth and his wife Lori, all of St. Marys, and Mark Challingsworth and his wife Sara of Philadelphia.  He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and by a special niece, Rhonda Horchen.

Don was a graduate of St. Marys High School and member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church.  He retired from Airco Speer after many years of dedicated service.  He enjoyed hunting and shooting trap.  He always enjoyed participating in the Eynon Event.  Most of all, he loved spending time on the family farm.

Funeral Services for Donald E. Challingsworth will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Shiloh Presbyterian Church, 217 Washington Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Scott Wiest, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in St Marys Protestant Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Christian Food Bank or to the Shiloh Presbyterian Church.
