Donna G. (Sorg) May

Donna G. (Sorg) May, 65, of Washington Street, St. Marys, passed away at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on May 1, 1957 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Thomas B. Sorg, Sr. and Geraldine R. Rupprecht Sorg.

Donna was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, class of 1975. She retired from Metco Industries after more than 25 years of service. Over the years, she lived in Arizona, Arkansas, and Colorado, before moving back to Pennsylvania, which she dearly loved. She loved traveling and visiting new places. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, and playing bingo. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons.

Donna is survived by one daughter; Astasia May-Straneva and her husband Ed of Ridgway, and by her 2 beloved grandchildren; Zaiden and Maxwell. She is also survived by a sister; Laura (Mike Lunger) Sorg of St. Marys, by three brothers; Jerome Sorg of St. Marys, Thomas (Betty) Sorg of Colorado, and Lyle Sorg of Pittsburgh, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by two siblings; Richard Sorg and Irene Sorg.

Funeral Services for Donna G. May will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home with Fr. Thomas Curry, OSB, officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
