Gerald "Louie" Swanson

Gerald L. "Louie" Swanson, 67, a resident of Ridgmont Assisted Living in Ridgway and formerly of Kersey, died on Monday, January 4, 2021 at McKinley Health Center in Brookville following a lengthy illness.

He was born on August 23, 1953, in Ridgway, a son of the late Gust B. and Helen L. Smith Swanson.

Louie was a llifelong resident of the area and retired from Keystone Carbon Company after many years of service.  He was a longtime member and volunteer for the Fox Township Firemen's, and was also a past member of the Eagles and Dagus Mines Legion.  He was an avid Oakland Raiders and New York Yankees fan.

He is survived by one brother; Richard Swanson of Kersey, by a nephew; Steve Swanson, and by a niece, Tracy Wilcox.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother; Larry Swanson, and by a brother Harry Swanson.

Due to current restrictions, a Memorial Service for Gerald L. "Louie" Swanson is being scheduled and will be held at a later date.

Interment will be in Maria Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Fox Township Firemens or to the Fox Township Ambulance.
