Jeffrey Leiner Obituary

Jeffrey A. Leiner, 58, of 145 Queens Road, St. Marys, died on Friday, June 4, 2021 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.

He was born in Charleroi, PA on September 12, 1962, a son of the late Harold and Ann Dunbar Leiner.

He shared his life for many years with his fiance, Marybeth Baumer Scone of St. Marys and in addition to her, he is survived by two step-children; Robert Scone of St. Marys and Melissa Scone of Wisconsin, and by two grandchildren; Egan and Myla Dao. He is also survived by a brother; Lee Leiner, two foster brothers; Kenny and Bill Smith, two aunts; Jerry Knouse and Jackie Ferguson, and by a special cousin; Albert "AB" Knouse.

Jeff was a gradaute of Lower Burrell High School, class of 1980. He served 10 years in the U.S. Navy, having served in both Libya and Desert Storm. During his time in the Navy, he was stationed aboard 2 aircraft carriers, the America and the Coral Sea. He was a member of the VFW in New Kensington.
Prior to moving to St. Marys, he worked as an EMT and Fireman in the Pittsburgh area. After making his home in St. Marys with Marybeth, he worked for a number of years at Advanced Heat Treaters. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Steelers. He enjoyed classical music and reading. Finding the family he always longed for here, Jeff loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who lovingly called him "PaPa Jeff".

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Richard Leiner.

Funeral Services for Jeffrey A. Leiner will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home.
Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk County Rides for Vets.
