Neil Johnson Obituary


Neil R. Johnson, 91, of 151 Houston Road, St. Marys, died on  Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.
He was born January 30, 1930 in Renova, PA, a son of the late Gerald and Eva Van Sickle Johnson.
On March 31, 1951, in the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church, he married Patricia Van Order Johnson, who survives. 
Neil was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after many years of service.  He enjoyed hunting, going to camp, and spending time outdoors.  Over the years, he was known to tell a story or two and greatly enjoyed spending time with his family. 
In addition to his wife Pat, he is survived by five children; Gail (Ralph) Palmer of Mechanicsburg, PA, Marjorie (David) Fitzgerald of Kersey, Jeffrey (Linda) Johnson of St. Marys, Rebecca (Scott) Wickett of Ridgway, Andrew (Sharon) Johnson of DuBois and by ten grandchildren; Shawn Washinger, Abbye  Pugnetti, Gregory Fitzgerald, Amy Young, Trisha Fisk, Matthew Johnson, Amanda Benini, Logan Wickett, Ryan Johnson, Nathan Johnson and by five great grandchildren.  He is also survived by one sister; Norma Nevins of Horsehead, NY and by one brother; Paul Johnson of Erin, NY.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Hunter Wickett and by three brothers; Dean Johnson, Leonard Johnson and Gerald Johnson. 
Visitation and Funeral Services for Neil R. Johnson are being held privately at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home with the family.
Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.. 
Memorial Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
