Norman J. Schneider, 96, of 144 Wendel Road, St. Marys, died on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a short illness.

He was born on August 18, 1924, in St. Marys, a son of the late George and Margaret Geyer Schneider.

On July 16, 1949 in Byrnedale, he married Anna Carpin Schneider, who survives of St. Marys.

Norman was a lifelong resident of the area and member of Queen of the World Church.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946 during World War II.  He retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after many years of service. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and taking care of his home.

In addition to his Wife of nearly 72 years, Anna Carpin Schneider, he is survived by three sons; John Schneider and his wife Patricia of Wilcox, David Schneider and his companion Toni O'Dell of St. Marys, and Michael Schneider of St. Marys.  He is also survived by four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a sister; Hilda Kronenwetter of New Jersey, and by a sister-in-law, JoAnn Schneider, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers; Robert, George, James, Lawrence and Donald "Chick" Schneider and by five sisters; Alice Schneider, Frances Burfield, Edna Wagner, Margaret Eckert, and Theresa Gier.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Norman J. Schneider will be celebrated on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Due to Covid, Military Honors will be scheduled during the summer months.

There will be no public visitation.
