Paula J. Hamby

Paula J. Hamby, 60, of 638 Washington Street, St. Marys, died on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family following a battle with cancer.

She was born on May 8, 1958, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Paul Schlimm and Mary Ann Hupfer Schlimm, who survives of St. Marys.

On October 25, 1991, in St. Marys, she married Paul Hamby, who survives.

Paula was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Queen of the World Church.  She graduated from Elk County Christian High School, class of 1976.  She worked as a Pharmacy Tech at St. Marys Pharmacy for many years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and pets.

In addition to her mother, Mary Ann Schlimm, and her husband, Paul Hamby, she is survived by three sisters, Shirley Schwabenbauer, Sue Schlimm, and Christine (Frank) Haberberger, all of St. Marys, and by one brother, Percy Schlimm of Seattle, Washington.  She is also survived by a niece, Stephanie, two nephews, Adam and Kyle, and by a great-niece, Sophie.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Schlimm in 1997.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Paula J. Hamby will be celebrated on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk County Humane Society.
