He was born on July 15, 1946, in St. Marys, a son of the late Kenneth and Rita Brennen Heindl.

On August 24, 1968 in St. Marys, he married the late Bonita "Bonnie" Heindl, who preceded him in death on September 5, 2020.  Together they shared more than 52 years of love and marriage.

Ron was a lifelong resident of the area and member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church.  He retired from Allegheny Power after more than 30 years of service.  Ron proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves for more than 42 years, retiring in 2006 as a Sergeant First Class.  He enjoyed cutting his grass and working around his home.  He always enjoyed a good game of Cinch, and was particularly fond of his dog, Josie.  Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

He is survived by one son; Kenny Heindl and his wife Krista of St. Marys, two daughters; Kristy Castina and her husband Dean of St. Marys and Wendy Miller and her husband Kevin of Warminster, by four grandchildren; Ryan Merritt, Kali Smith, Carter Miller, and Allison Heindl, and by one great-grandson; Thomas.  He is also survived by his twin brother; Donald Heindl and his wife Susan of St. Marys.

In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by a brother; James Heindl, and by a sister; Susan Jasper.
