Sue C. Lynch, 83, of 185 Center Street and formerly of Taft Road, St. Marys, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
She was born on October 11, 1938, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late LeRoy and Anna Fuenffinger Laird.
On February 17, 1962, she married the love of her life, Jeremiah “Jerry” Lynch, who preceded her in death on October 2, 2016. Together they were blessed with more than 54 years of marriage.
Sue was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School and member of Sacred Heart Church. She was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered for more than 20 years in the hospital gift shop, always enjoying the friends she met along the way. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and prayed often to St. Theresa. She cherished her family and loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson.
She is survived by two daughters; Judy (Andy Lecker) Lynch of Glen Hazel and Nancy (James) McCloskey of Kane, two sons; Shawn (Diane) Lynch of Murrysville and David (Alicia) Lynch of Hummelstown, by seven grandchildren; Erin (Jeremy) Williams, Jeremiah Lynch, Zachary Lynch, Abigail Lynch, Isaac Lynch, Sydnee Lynch and Chloee Lynch and by one great-grandson; Owen Williams. She is also survived by two brothers; Leroy “Snooky” Laird and his wife Helen and Thomas Laird and his wife Karen, both of St. Marys, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sue C. Lynch will be will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church, 337 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Thomas Curry, OSB, as celebrant.
Interment will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Community Nurses or to the Sacred Heart Church.
