Thomas C. Nellis, Jr., 49, of Brockway, PA passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, January 21, 2023.
He was born on August 8, 1973 in St. Marys, PA, a son of Thomas Nellis of Emporium and the late LouAnn Botera Nellis, who preceded him in death on July 19, 2021.
On August 10, 1994 in Emporium, he married Amy Burkey Nellis, who survives.
Tom was a member of Sacred Heart Church and spent many years working outdoors, always enjoying farming and logging. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of more than 28 years, Amy Burkey Nellis, he is survived by 2 children; Devin Thomas Nellis of Ridgway and Darien Heather (Brandon Martz) Nellis of Eldred; and by his 2 beloved grandchildren; Brentley and Moxson.
He is also survived by four siblings; Tammy (Lee) Pearsall, Fantasia (Frank) Dourado, Brittany McKelvey, and Nicholas (Heather) Nellis, as well as by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas C. Nellis, Jr. will be celebrated on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 337 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Thomas Curry, OSB, as celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial Contributions may be made to American Behcet's Disease Association or to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
