Viola V. Eckert, 90, of 228 Martin Road, died on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Penn Highlands Elk.
She was born in Lock Haven on March 10, 1931, a daughter of the late Frank and Concettina Curado Sette.
On August 20, 1954 in St. Leo's, she married the late Carl J. "Shorty" Eckert, who preceded her in death on June 9, 2007. Together they shared nearly 53 years of love, laughter, and happiness.
Viola was a member of Queen of the World Church. She retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after many years of service and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters; Constance Steinbach and her husband Frank, Nancy Mildrew and her husband Bruce, both of St. Marys, by one son; Joseph Eckert of St. Marys and by seven grandchildren; Missy (Myron) Webb, Loren Steinbach, Brad (Gabe) Steinbach, T.C. Swanson, Julie (Jaison) Liebro, Gina (Jim) Brem, Kurt (Ashley) Eckert and by seven great-grandchildren; Jaxon, Brayden, Brielle, My’Anna, Gia, Gino, and Charley.
She is also survived by one brother; Carmen (Magdalena) Sette of Genona, Spain, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son at birth, Mark, by four brothers; Dominick, Patsy, and Joseph Sette, and John in infancy and by five sisters; Rosemary Iorfida, Dora Santiso, Dolores Sette, Mackina “Mary” Harrier, and Mackina Sette in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Viola V. Eckert will be celebrated on Monday, June 14, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation.
