Walter Spencer Obituary

Walter S. "Walt" Spencer, 87, of 143 Wendel Road, St. Marys, died on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Penn Highlands Elk following a brief illness.

He was born on February 9, 1934, in Grampian, PA, a son of the late John and Marian Malloy Spencer.  

On July 11, 1955 in Cumberland, MD, he married his beloved wife, Winifred "Winnie" Dornish Spencer, who survives of St. Marys.

Walt was a longtime member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #109.  He worked for many years at Powdered Metal Products before founding Elite Metal Products and then Metco Industries.  Walt retired in 1996 after many years in the powdered metal industry.  In his free time, he enjoyed going to camp and woodworking.  Walt will be fondly remembered as a great provider and loving husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his wife of more than 66 years, he is survived by two daughters; Deborah Schaberl and Kim Bauer, both of St. Marys, and by two sons; Jeff Spencer and his wife Renee of Summerville, SC and Mike Spencer and his wife Karen of Inman, SC.  He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 4 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren, as well as by a sister; Dorothy Haberberger of Clive, Iowa.

Funeral Services for Walter S. "Walt" Spencer are being held privately with the family at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
